01The card is the job

Every job starts with a job card: what is wrong, what we will do, what it costs and when it is ready. We do not start work until you have said yes to the card, by text, email or in person.

02Estimates and prices

• The card shows a from–to estimate until we have seen the part. Once we have, the price is fixed and we tell you before any work starts.
• If we find something else while the car is on the lift, we stop and ask. We never add work you did not agree to.
• Labour is charged at the hourly rate on the wall and on the price sheet. Parts are charged at cost only.
• If a job runs over the fixed price, that is our problem, not yours.

03Bookings and cancellations

• A booking holds a bay and so our time. Move it or cancel it up to two hours before, free of charge, by phone or text.
• If you do not turn up and do not tell us, we may ask for a deposit next time.

04Your car while it is with us

Your car is insured on our premises and on the road test. Please take valuables out of it; we are not responsible for anything left inside. Old parts are kept in a box for you to see and are recycled after seven days unless you ask to keep them.

05Paying

Payment is due when you collect the car. We take card, cash and bank transfer. Cars are released when the bill is paid.

06If something goes wrong

Ring 01904 922858 or email hello@northernautoworks.co.uk. If we cannot sort it out between us, you can take it to the Motor Ombudsman, whose code we follow. Nothing here removes your legal rights.
